Laser surgery

With laser surgery, as shown in this brief video, tissue is cut using a beam of light instead of a steel blade. The beam vaporizes tissue with high water content.

Three benefits of laser surgical technique (laser surgery):

  1. Reduced bleeding: in laser surgery, while cutting tissue, the laser instantly cauterizes small blood vessels, which makes the surgery easier.
  2. Reduced pain and swelling: the beam of light also seals nerve endings and small lymph vessels, which lessens oedema and pain.
  3. Reduced risk of infection: since there is no contact between the skin and the instrument, there is no risk of direct contamination of the surgical site. The heat created by the beam of light also vaporizes pathogens in its path and therefore further sterilizes the incision.

All of these laser surgery benefits make post-operative recovery more comfortable and faster.

COVID-19

Here are the measures that are in effect at this time:

  1. Clients are admitted inside the clinic;
  2. Sanitary measures are encouraged: hand disinfection upon arrival, wearing an appropriate face covering and social distancing;
  3. The maximum number of persons allowed inside the clinic at any one time is five (5) persons;
  4. Anyone showing respiratory symptoms is refused access to the clinic;
  5. The exam rooms being too small, in order to protect both clients and employees, all animals coming for an exam or surgery are left with the receptionist at the front desk at the time that was specified when the appointment was taken. The veterinarian takes care of the animals one by one after which the owners are called back to be informed of the situation.

THANK YOU for your understanding.
